Historic Walks 2
Historic walks in the Waveney and Blyth Valley and further afield. Our Walks combine places of interest with an easy walk, usually between 1 and 3 miles. Sorry but we are unable to accept dogs on the walks.
We have to limit numbers so that members can hear the walk leader as the walk progresses. Group 2 is now taking new members. Please use the bird link (to the right) to register your interest.

POEM for you, specially written for the Historic Walks groups by IVAN CRANE who you will know as he often arranges and leads walks for the groups...
A Walk by Ivan Crane
To go for a ramble
Is never a gamble
It is an endless tour
Where may generations have walked before
It’s a mystery
Where you will find endless history
Footpaths, tracks and bridleways
Linking towns and villages in other days
Churches and chapels abound
Silent now hardly a sound
Go inside the door
Investigate a little more
Maybe there is an historic artefact
Left intact
Take a break time is on your side
Because on this walk you decide
Its time to move on again
Forget the rain
Flowers, woodland and fauna
Around every corner
Fields full of crops
The wonder never stops
Wonderful sky’s
A treat for your eyes
The same walk changes with the seasons
Do it again, there lies four reasons
A walk is peace and tranquillity
Surrounded by natures fragility
It is a place to think and contemplate
Concentrate
To remove that stress
And return afresh
