Recorder Playing

We are a small group of players, consisting of experienced hands and others who are less proficient. Playing music in a group is very satisfying because of the harmonies that can be achieved, particularly when treble, tenor and bass recorders join the descants. Playing in an ensemble is different from playing solo because it requires players to listen to each other in order to make the music sound as it should. Nowadays there is a wealth of music to choose from, so we can be flexible in choosing varying styles at the appropriate level of skill.

There are no auditions. The only requirement is to be able to make a good sound with your instrument and to read music.

Grants from the Beccles U3A Committee enable us to buy some music collections and each member currently has the use of two such books. We aim to see that each session is varied and that we experience real satisfaction from the playing.

Please contact the convenor via the Bird if you are interested in joining.
